    He loves all typed of climbing, from bouldering through to alpine tradational climbing. He has a BSc in Sports and Exercise Theory, where he wrote his thesis on finger training, so you know he is obsessed.

    As a Foundation qualified and Development trained coach, he has been training climbers for a couple of years through the NIBAS scheme here at The Climbing Lab. • Josh is one of our in-house Coaches and Route Setters. He has always had an interest and focus on outdoor pursuits from an early age, and since 2018 has had a huge passion for climbing. In his personal climbing Josh enjoys working on projects to find the nuances of beta that unlock a problem and through a technique over strength approach can help you develop this in your own climbing. As one of our in-house setters Josh can help set problems to help test your strengths and improve your weaknesses on the wall, and if slopers aren’t your bag yet, he can show you the way.

    As a coach, Josh loves helping people develop and realise their potential on the wall and gets as much satisfaction from people achieving their goals as he does his own. Below are some of the key areas Josh can help you develop within your own climbing;

    Technical - enhance your footwork, grow your arsenal of skills and gain more confidence on those tricky to use hand holds.

    Physical - with a climbing focus Josh can help you improve strength on the wall along with some gym intervention should you wish.

    Tactical - learn how to break down projects, improve your route reading and use more strategy in your sessions.
