Subscription & Passes Terms and Conditions

 

1. Eligibility & Registration

1.1 You must be a competent climber to purchase a climbing subscription or pass.

1.2 All climbers must hold a valid Lab Card and have completed an unsupervised Acknowledgement of Risk form prior to climbing without supervision.

1.3 You must be aged 18 or over to enter into a subscription agreement unless purchasing on behalf of a participant under 18.

1.4 Access may be refused or suspended where competency, safety compliance or registration requirements are not met.

2. Subscription & Pass Types

The Climbing Lab offers the following products:

• Flexible Monthly subscription (Rolling)

• 12-Month Fixed Term Monthly subscription

• Prepaid Fixed-Term pass (e.g. 5 months, 9 months, 12 months etc.)

• Punch Passes (5, 10 or 20 climbs)

3. Flexible Monthly Subscription (Rolling)

3.1 Flexible monthly subscriptions have a minimum term of one full calendar month.

3.2 Payments are taken monthly in advance via Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) using a secure PCI-compliant provider.

3.3 Payments are collected on the same calendar date each month as the original sign-up date.

3.4 Cancellation must be completed via the customer portal or by email at least 7 days before the next billing date.

3.5 If payment fails, access will be suspended until all outstanding amounts are paid in full.

3.6 Monthly charges are non-refundable once taken unless charged in error.

4. 12-Month Fixed Term Monthly Pass

4.1 This membership has a 12-month minimum commitment with payments taken monthly in advance.

4.2 Early cancellation is permitted only in cases of long-term illness, relocation or exceptional circumstances at management discretion.

4.3 An early termination fee may apply in accordance with the Fixed Term Membership Agreement.

4.4 Access will be suspended where payment is overdue and outstanding balances must be cleared before re-entry.

4.5 At the end of the initial term, membership will automatically renew for a further 12-month term unless cancelled in accordance with renewal notice instructions.

4.6 Renewal notice will be issued between 30 and 60 days prior to renewal.

5. Prepaid Fixed-Term Passes

5.1 The full pass fee is payable in advance at the time of purchase.

5.2 The pass runs for the selected fixed period and expires automatically at the end of that term.

5.3 Prepaid passes do not automatically renew.

5.4 Prepaid passes are non-refundable and non-transferable except where required by law.

5.5 For online purchases, a 14-day cooling-off period applies in accordance with Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

6. Punch Passes

6.1 Punch passes are available in bundles of 5, 10 or 20 climbs.

6.2 Punch passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

6.3 Unused climbs expire automatically after 12 months.

6.4 Punch passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and have no cash value.

7. Payment Processing

7.1 Recurring memberships are collected via Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) using our payment provider Stripe.

7.2 Prepaid products must be paid in full before access is granted.

7.3 The Climbing Lab does not store full card details and uses secure PCI-compliant payment providers.

8. Price Changes

8.1 The Climbing Lab reserves the right to review and amend pricing.

8.2 Recurring subscriptionprice changes will be notified in writing in advance.

8.3 Members may cancel in accordance with their agreement if they do not accept a price change.

8.4 Changes will not be applied retrospectively.

9. Temporary Closure

9.1 The Climbing Lab may close all or part of the facility for events, competitions, maintenance, staff training, private hire or public holidays.

9.2 Such closures form part of normal business operation and do not entitle members to refunds or extensions unless otherwise stated.

10. Suspension & Termination

10.1 Subscriptions and passes may be suspended or terminated without refund where safety rules are breached, payment obligations are not met or behaviour endangers others.

11. Consumer Rights

11.1 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection legislation.

12. Acceptance

12.1 By purchasing a subscription or pass, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.You must be a competent climber to purchase a climbing pass, with a valid Lab Card and have completed an unsupervised acknowledgement of risk form, and all cancellations must be processed through the customer portal.
